Real-world use case
Looking for the unmissable event for hackers: Hack In Paris and Nuit du Hack take place from June 26 to 29, 2014.
Hack In Paris
The Hack In Paris event, held every year in Paris, reviews IT security through training and conference talks over five days in June.

– June 23 to 25: three days of training by 10 security professionals (CISOs, CIOs) and experts. – June 26 to 27: two days of talks, with international conference speakers and experts.
The event is organized by a major French IT security company: SYSDREAM. It mainly does penetration testing & IT security training. Over this period, it brings together more than 20 international conference speakers over 2 days. The main talks are available on the official website: hackinparis.com.
The talks I'm looking forward to:
All the talks look very interesting, but here are my favorites:
- Pillaging and printing: the art of multifunction printers: Deral Heiland and Pete Arzamendi.
- Default configuration: defeating UEFI/Win8 SecureBoot: John Butterworth and his team.
- Discovering underground networks over 24h: Aamir Lakhani.
- Mobile malware: Thomas Wang.
- Building a botnet to exploit the network: Solomon Sonya.
- Hacking the future of security: Winn Schwartau.
Nuit du Hack
Created in 2003 by Hackerz Voice, Nuit du Hack is a major French conference, and it grows more popular every year.
`
Talks, workshops, and team challenges are offered.
Foreign speakers take part in the event to ensure it has international reach.
More accessible than Hack In Paris for the general public, the knowledge shared will be demystified: hacker techniques and more…
The goal: a better understanding of IT security!

Registering for both events
You can choose to register for one or the other, or even for both events at once. For my part, the simplest option was to register on the Hack In Paris website. I'm still a student, and the hackinparis.com website offers a discounted rate of €90. The student rate lets me access the Hack In Paris talks as well as the Nuit Du Hack 2014 event. The process to purchase an entry ticket is fairly simple:
Register on the Hack In Paris website: register here
Log in on the site, then go to the registration page available here

I selected HIP Talks Only – Student Ticket at €75 before tax
Next, you'll find the different types of access offered by the student package:

Pay for your order on the SYSDREAM website.
Payment confirmation and your registration are validated.
Here's my ticket available on the website interface:

To conclude, I hope to make great connections in the IT security world, share my passion, discuss and explore new approaches in hacking. If you're also up for attending both events, know that three of us friends are already going. Feel free to join us on the TGV line: Lyon/Paris.
