The unmissable event for hackers. Hacking methods, technical approach, security, and more... Location: the Académie Fratellini, an unusual venue!
Real-world use case
Looking for the unmissable event for hackers: Hack In Paris and Nuit du Hack take place from June 15 to 21, 2015.
Hack In Paris 2015
The Hack In Paris event is coming up soon. Like every year for the past 5 years, it takes place in Paris and reviews IT security through training sessions and talks over five days.

The trainings will precede the talks, and the announced dates are:
- June 15 to 17: three days of training by security experts!
- June 18 to 19: two days of talks with international conference speakers and various experts.
The whole event is fully organized by Sysdream. The Hack In Paris 2015 session will take place for the first time at the Académie Fratellini. Sysdream is ideally positioned in the field of training, auditing, and consulting in IT security. On the other hand, the Hackerzvoice association is still present as a partner of the event! Their goal is to bring the community together around the hacking movement. Let's not forget they are the organizers of Nuit du Hack, in partnership with Sysdream.
My picks for 2015
For my part, here are a few talks I'm eagerly looking forward to:
- KEYNOTE: ANALOGUE NETWORK SECURITY by Winn Schwartau.
- BACKDOORING X11 WITH MUCH CLASS AND NO PRIVILEGES by Matias Katz.
- DDOS MITIGATIONS' EPIC FAIL COLLECTION by Moshe Zioni.
- KEYNOTE: ATTACKING SECURE COMMUNICATION: THE (SAD) STATE OF ENCRYPTED MESSAGING by Thomas Roth.
- FITNESS TRACKER: HACK IN PROGRESS by Axelle Apvrille.
- SIMPLE NETWORK MANAGEMENT PWND: INFORMATION DATA LEAKAGE ATTACKS AGAINST SNMP ENABLED EMBEDDED DEVICES by Deral Heiland and Mathew Kienow.

HackerZ Voice
An event for security professionals?
The Hack In Paris program aims to stay close to the corporate world through its training sessions. More than a dozen international speakers will be there to present research, methods, or to raise our awareness about the challenges of IT security. The whole audience is made up not only of IT security researchers or CIOs seeking knowledge, but also students, freelancers, or enthusiasts more generally. The event is designed for all types of attendees. Personally, last year I realized the event could be approachable for people interested in IT security topics. This session gives us a certain body of knowledge and know-how (as well as soft skills), on top of making us want to keep exploring this key field.
Nuit du Hack 2015

Still run year after year by Hackerz Voice, Nuit du Hack is a major gathering of the French hacking scene; it will take place on June 20-21! It's more accessible than HIP for the general public, so the knowledge shared will be demystified. But let's not forget that dozens of teams will face off during the night, and speakers will be present! We're all eagerly awaiting the director of ANSSI, who will be there for the opening.
A new public Wargame will be offered for the most resourceful among us! Or will we be tempted by the Defuse contest? Nuit du Hack is a chance for everyone to network, discover, or challenge each other! By the way, the Bug Bounty is once again featured, with rewards handed out throughout the event! Great news.
The NDH15 logo has been redesigned for the occasion, and the official site has a really classy background: "I can Haz your dataz?" Find all the information on the official website: Nuit du Hack and the association's Twitter.
Special article: "Talks after the HIP events"

I know some of you won't necessarily have the chance to attend HIP. This year, I wanted to take a closer look at one talk in particular, to highlight its content and its author. My goal is really to spotlight a talk by breaking down the presented project in detail. I keep in mind the aim of transcribing and sharing this knowledge as explained by the speaker.
I should note this is a personal initiative that reflects only my own views, purely to satisfy my thirst for knowledge in the field of IT security. I should also note that I am a partner of the event, and I'm naturally delighted to be able to contribute to this fifth edition!
Info: See you in June for a new HIP & NDH 2015 edition!
Conclusion
This article covered the 5th edition of Hack In Paris, held for the first time at the Académie Fratellini, as well as Nuit du Hack organized in parallel by the Hackerzvoice association. I detailed the talks I was most interested in, as well as my experience as a partner of the event in previous years. These two complementary events remain accessible to both professionals and enthusiasts looking to discover IT security.
